About Mia:

Mia Laverne is an actor currently based in Pittsburgh, PA, where she is finishing her BFA in Musical Theatre at Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she first found her love of performance at a young age singing in church and dancing at every family gathering.

Recent credits include Lysistrata: A Woman’s Translation (Lysistrata) at Point Park University’s Pittsburgh Playhouse, I Will Be Me: The Songs of Kooman and Diamond (Vocalist) at Greer Cabaret Theater, Witch (Elizabeth Sawyer) at Bridges Theatre Company, and the collegiate premiere of The Trees (Sheila) at Point Park University’s Pittsburgh Playhouse. Mia was nominated for a American Collage Theatre Festival award from this production.

Mia is an artist that truly has a passion for storytelling that is beautifully vulnerable and human, and seeks to push the boundaries of what we think and feel. Highlighting stories with BIPOC characters or by BIPOC writers is also something she cares for deeply.

You can soon see Mia in Point Park University’s production of Little Shop of Horrors as Crystal, running from April 29th to May 3rd!
